Enviro Race 5K : Venice, FL
Enviro Race 5K is a zero-waste community running event in downtown Venice, Florida, offered both as an in-person and a virtual 5K. Distances:

The in-person course uses two loops along a canopy tree-lined section of Venice Avenue and runs west toward the beach. The start area is across from the Daiquiri Deck and the finish is at Daquiri Deck and Centennial Park. A post-race gathering at Centennial Park includes a beer garden, iced tea and coffee bar, breakfast burritos and pastries, live music by the Gazebo, and awards.
The event emphasizes environmental responsibility. Organizers will avoid single-use plastic water bottles and plastic goodie bags. On-course water will be served with reusable silicone cups that are collected and sanitized for reuse. Finishers receive a souvenir silicone cup that can be refilled at event water stations and the beer and beverage areas. Compostable parchment and napkins will be used and routed to compost bins; leftover food will be collected and donated to the local Salvation Army. Race bibs will be collected for reuse or recycling. There is also a medal drop-off bin and a used shoe collection for recycling.
Race shirts are produced with rPET from a local supplier. A majority of proceeds will be donated to The Environmental Conservancy of North Port and surrounding areas. Pre-race packet pick up is scheduled the day before at Daquiri Deck across from Centennial Park. Awards are given three deep across age groups and overall categories.
