Event
The Engelheim Vineyards Wine Run 5k takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Engelheim Vineyards, 120 Lakeview Rd, Ellijay, GA 30540. The main event is a chip-timed 5k. The race is open to ages 1 to 99. A virtual participation option is available; virtual registrants can pick up a packet on race day or request packet shipping for an additional fee.
Course and logistics
The course is a two-lap route through the vineyard with a cross country style surface that includes some uneven footing and inclines. Participants may stop after one lap and be moved to the 1.5 mile walk division. Packet pickup is race day only and opens one hour before the event. Free race photos will be uploaded after the event. The event is timed and scored by J3 Timing, and results are posted online.
Registration, awards and policies
Registration includes a T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, a chip-timed bib, and a wine pour. Minors receive a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal and bib but do not receive the wine glass or a wine pour. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground; children in strollers may participate for free and do not need to register. Socialized, leashed dogs are permitted and must be cleaned up after. The event supports the charity Nik's Wish. Age group awards are given to the top male and female in each category; winners must start with the first group and pick up awards on race day.
