Engelheim Vineyards Wine Run 5k
The event takes place at Engelheim Vineyards in Ellijay, Georgia, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. It is a 5k distance. The course is a two-lap route that provides a scenic tour of the vineyards. It is described as a cross-country style course with some areas of uneven footing and inclines.
Registration for the 5k event includes a T-shirt, a shatterproof and collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, a chip-timed race bib, posted results, and a pour of wine. A virtual participation option is available, with the possibility of having a race packet shipped.
The event is timed and scored by J3 Timing. Age group awards are given to the top male and female finisher in each category. Categories span 10-year increments from ages 1-9 to 80 and over.
Participants can choose a start time during registration. The event is open to participants from ages 1 to 99. Minors receive a discounted registration that does not include a wine glass or wine pour. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground.
