Emerald Mountain Trail Run : Steamboat Springs Running Series
The Emerald Mountain Trail Run closes the Steamboat Springs Running Series pointed season and includes the announcement of series winners; awards are distributed after the event. The course begins at the base of Howelsen Hill and follows aspen-lined single track on Emerald Mountain. Hikers are permitted on the 12k course. The event is held at Olympian Hall, Howelsen Hill, Steamboat Springs, CO.

- 12k (roughly 7.75 miles)
- 4 mile run or hike
The 12k route leaves from behind Olympian Hall, follows Robbie’s to Mile Run to Blackmere, continues to Larry’s and across the meadow, returns via Blackmere to the Quarry, descends Little Moab to Lupine, and finishes with a loop on the Bluffs. The 4 mile course also starts behind Olympian Hall, follows Robbie’s to Mile Run to Blackmere, then takes Lupine to the Bluffs and returns through the park and ball fields to the start/finish area.
Race organizers note that much of the course is narrow single track, so pets are not recommended; all pets must be leashed within the city park. Participants are automatically entered in a prize raffle and prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place in male and female divisions. Headphones are not encouraged and hikers should yield to passing runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
