Event overview
The Ellesmere 10k Run is a road running event offering a 10 km race in and around Ellesmere. The event includes a start and finish in the town centre with a countryside section that passes through the grounds of Ellesmere College. Minimum age to enter is 15 years.
Course and logistics
Race headquarters, start and finish are on Scotland Street in the centre of Ellesmere. The town centre has multiple car parks within about a 5 minute walk of the start and finish area. Roads on the route will be closed for the race; residents and visitors are advised to move vehicles before the road closure begins and to follow diversion routes if travelling into town. Spectators are asked to stay off the course until runners have passed and are advised the start and finish areas on Scotland Street and High Street are suitable viewing points. There is one water station approximately halfway on the route and additional water at the start and finish areas.
Race details, awards and partners
The event sets a race cut-off time of 90 minutes. Finishers receive a medal and post-race goodies. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus seven age-group awards for both males and females.
