Event Overview
The Ellesmere 10k is a running event organized by Adrenaline Sporting Events. It takes place on Sunday, 23rd August 2026. The route is 10 km long and features a mix of fast sections and small inclines. It begins and finishes in the center of Ellesmere on Scotland Street (High Street) and includes a countryside section passing the grounds of Ellesmere College.
Event Details
The race uses fully closed roads. The course has a time limit of 90 minutes; roads reopen according to this pace. There is a water station around the halfway point and in the start/finish area. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottle.
The start and finish area is a short walk from multiple town centre car parks. There will be music and a help desk at Race HQ. The minimum age for participants is 15 years old.
Prizes and Charity
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers, as well as seven age group awards for each gender. The official charity partner for the event is The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.
Information for Participants and Spectators
Spectators are advised to watch from the start/finish on Scotland Street or from pavements/verges along the route, while respecting marshal instructions and the closed roads. Residents on the route are advised to move their cars before road closures begin at 8:15 am if they need to leave during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
