Ellesmere 10k Run
Ellesmere 10k is a community road race organised by Adrenaline Sporting Events and scheduled for Sunday 23rd August 2026 in Ellesmere. The race uses Scotland Street in the town centre as the race headquarters for start and finish and passes through town roads and nearby countryside.
The route includes sections in Ellesmere centre, lanes with countryside views and the grounds of Ellesmere College. The course combines faster stretches with some small inclines. Organisers plan one water station around the halfway point and additional water at the start and finish areas; runners are encouraged to bring a suitable bottle to run with.
Roads on the route will be fully closed for safety and will reopen in line with the event pace. Organisers aim to minimise disruption for residents and advise moving parked vehicles before road closures begin and following diversion routes when arriving into town. Spectators are asked to follow marshals and may watch from Scotland Street or High Street where pavement and verge space is available.
The event has a 90 minute cut-off. Minimum age for participants is 15 years. Finishers receive a medal and post-race goodies. Awards include top three male and female and seven age-group prizes for both sexes. The event’s charity partner is The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.
