Ellesmere 10k : 23 August 2026
The event is a 10k road race in Ellesmere with the race HQ, start and finish on Scotland Street in the town centre. The minimum age for entrants is 15 years.
Course, facilities and rules
The route uses closed roads through Ellesmere centre and nearby countryside, including the grounds of Ellesmere College. The course includes mostly flat and fast sections with some small inclines. A course map is available via the organiser.
There is a single water station around the halfway point and water at the start and finish areas; runners are encouraged to bring a suitable bottle to carry. Parking is available in multiple town centre car parks, a short walk from the start/finish area. The start/finish area will have music and a help desk.
Road closures are in place for runner safety and will be managed in line with the event pace. The race cut-off time is 90 minutes; runners who fall behind this pace may be asked to withdraw for safety. Finishers receive a medal and goodies. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus seven age-group awards for each gender. The event’s charity partner is The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. Spectators are advised to remain off the course until runners have passed and may watch from Scotland Street/High Street or road-side pavements.
