Event overview

The Ellesmere 10k is a 10-kilometre road running event scheduled for Sunday 23rd August 2026 in Ellesmere. The minimum age for entry is 15 years. The event’s charity partner is The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. Finishers receive a medal and event goodies. The organiser sets a race cut-off time of 90 minutes; roads will re-open in line with this pace and runners behind the required pace may be asked to withdraw.

Course, logistics and prizes

The race start and finish are on Scotland Street in the centre of Ellesmere. The route combines central town roads, a countryside section and a stretch that passes through the grounds of Ellesmere College. The course includes fast sections and some small inclines. Roads on the route will be fully closed on race day for safety. One water station is planned around the halfway point, with additional water available at the start and finish areas. Town centre car parks are available for runners and spectators and are a short walk from the start/finish area. Spectator information notes pavements and verges along the route and recommends watching the start and finish on Scotland Street/High Street. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and top three women, plus seven age-group awards for each gender. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
