Ellesmere 10k Run
The Ellesmere 10k is scheduled for 22 August 2027 and is organised as a community running event on fully closed roads for participant safety. Race headquarters, including the start and finish area, are on Scotland Street in the centre of Ellesmere. Parking is available in multiple town centre car parks a short five minute walk from the start and finish area.
The route combines town centre roads, sections of countryside lanes and the grounds of Ellesmere College, with a mix of faster stretches and some small inclines. One water station is planned around the halfway point, with additional water available at the start and finish areas; runners are encouraged to bring a suitable bottle if they wish to carry fluids.
Minimum age to take part is 15 years. There is a 90 minute race cut off; roads will reopen in line with this pace and participants who fall behind the required pace may be asked to withdraw for safety reasons. Spectators should follow marshal guidance and stay off the course until runners have passed.
Finishers receive a medal and post-race goodies. Awards include top three male and top three female overall places, plus seven age group awards for both male and female competitors.
