Ellesmere 10k overview

The Ellesmere 10k is scheduled for 23 August 2026 in Ellesmere. The event starts and finishes in the town centre, with Race HQ on Scotland Street. The minimum entry age is 15 years. The race has a 90 minute cut-off; roads on the course will re-open in line with this pace.

Route and race services

The route runs through Ellesmere centre, a countryside section and the grounds of Ellesmere College. The course includes mainly fast sections with some small inclines. Roads used for the event are fully closed for runner safety. Spectators are asked to stay off the course until runners have passed and are suggested viewing areas on Scotland Street and High Street where there is pavement and verge coverage. One water station is provided around the halfway point, with additional water available at the start and finish areas. Runners are encouraged to bring a suitable bottle to carry while running. The finish area will provide a finisher medal and post-race goodies, and there will be music and a help desk at the start/finish.

Awards and partner

Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus seven male and seven female age-group awards. The event charity partner is The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. Parking is available in multiple town centre car parks a short walk from the start/finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
