Event

The Ellesmere 10K takes place in Ellesmere on 23rd August 2026. The event is a 10 kilometre road race that starts and finishes on Scotland Street in the centre of Ellesmere. The route passes through town streets, a countryside section and the grounds of Ellesmere College. The course includes mostly fast sections with some small inclines. The minimum entry age is 15 years. Finishers receive a medal and post-race goodies. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus seven age-group awards for each gender. The event charity partner is The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

Logistics

Roads on the route will be fully closed for the safety of competitors and marshals. Roads may be closed only for a short period and will reopen in line with race progress. Spectators are advised to use Scotland Street and High Street for start and finish viewing; pavements and verges along the route provide additional viewing areas. The town centre has multiple car parks for runners and spectators, located about a five-minute walk from the start and finish. There will be one water station around the halfway point and water provision at the start and finish area. Participants are advised to bring a suitable bottle to run with.
