Ellesmere 10k Run
The Ellesmere 10k is a town-centre running event that follows a route through the centre of Ellesmere and nearby countryside, including the grounds of Ellesmere College. The course includes a mix of faster sections and some small inclines and uses fully closed roads for runner safety.
The event provides a finishers medal and additional goodies for participants. There is a water station around the halfway point and water available at the start and finish area; participants are encouraged to carry a suitable bottle. The race has a 90-minute cut off and roads will re-open in line with that pace.
Race headquarters, start and finish are on Scotland Street in the centre of Ellesmere. The town centre has multiple car parks that lie about a 5-minute walk from the start and finish area. On race day there will be music and a help desk at the venue.
Minimum age to enter is 15 years. Awards are planned for the top three male and top three female finishers, plus seven age-group awards for both men and women. The event lists The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital as its charity partner.
