Event overview
The Shrewsbury 5k Festival is a series of graded 5k races held on Saturday 6 December 2025 at Shrewsbury Sports Village, Sundorne Road, Shrewsbury SY1 4RQ. The event is organised by Run Cheshire and is staged under UK Athletics rules. Cash prizes are offered for the top three men and top three women. The minimum age to take part is 11 on race day.
Course, format and entry
Races take place at the Shrewsbury cycle circuit under floodlights. The course is traffic free, flat, sheltered and well maintained, and covers just over five laps. There are three separate races in the evening; runners are allocated to a specific race based on predicted finish time and will be informed by race instructions issued about a week before the event. Race numbers are available for collection on the night.
Entry for those aged 11 and over is priced at £16. Entries close on 6 December 2025. Refunds and deferrals are not offered, but entries may be transferred to another runner until midnight the night before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
