Electric 5k
The Electric 5k takes place on July 3, 2026 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. All races begin and end on W Hadley Avenue across from the Meerscheidt Center. The event is organized by volunteers and is a closed course set along streets that are lined with spectators during the Las Cruces Electric Light Parade at dusk.

Portions of registration proceeds support the LCRC Summer Youth Program and donations to Dona Ana area high school cross country programs. Runners receive a bib; paid participants are listed as receiving a t shirt though shirts are not guaranteed after June 12. Runners age 14 and under may participate free.
The event includes chip timing, race photos and finisher video posted to the results page, and age group awards that are separate from overall top three awards. The 5K awards include overall top three male and female and top three in age groups. The 1 Mile Fun Run has separate overall awards for ages 1 to 14 and 15 and older. Additional features mentioned are race swag, prizes for best costume and largest team, after race snacks and drinks, and a group discount of five dollars per person for groups of four or more registering together. Free 1 Mile youth runners cannot be included in group discount registration.
The 5K route runs south on W Hadley Avenue to Solano, then north to Madrid with a U turn before the Apodaca Baseball Field and retraces back to the finish. The course has less than ten feet of elevation gain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
