Electric 5k Las Cruces
The event is a volunteer produced evening running event on W Hadley Ave in front of the Meerscheidt Center in Las Cruces, NM. It takes place at dusk alongside the Las Cruces Electric Light Parade and runs in front of spectators.

All races begin and end on W Hadley Ave across from the Meerscheidt Center. The 5K course runs south on W Hadley to Solano, north to Madrid, makes a U turn before the Apodaca Baseball field, and retraces back to the finish. The course has less than 10 feet of elevation gain.
Registration is free for runners age 14 and under; registration is required for participation. Paid registration has a fee of $25. A group discount of $5 per person applies for groups of four or more who register together. Free youth entries may not be used to obtain the group discount. Paid participants receive a bib and a t shirt when available; free participants receive a bib.
Chip timing is used. Results include race photos tagged by bib number and a finisher video. Awards are provided for overall and age group places for the 5K and age group places for the 1 Mile. Prizes are awarded for best costume and largest team. Portions of registration proceeds support the LCRC Summer youth program and local high school cross country. Organizers will clear the course for the parade and ask runners unable to complete the course within one hour to head toward the finish and notify the timing crew on arrival.
