Event overview
The Electric 5k is scheduled for July 3, 2026 in Las Cruces, NM. The event includes two races:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Registration is free for runners age 14 and under. The event is volunteer produced by the Las Cruces Running Club. Portions of registration proceeds support the LCRC Summer Youth Program and donations to Dona Ana area high school cross-country programs. Chip timing will be used. Race photos are posted to the results page and a finisher video is posted to the results page. Paid participants are provided a bib and a t-shirt, with t-shirts not guaranteed after June 12. Prizes include age-group awards and overall awards for the top three male and female finishers in the 5k. Additional prizes are given for best costume and largest team.
Course and logistics
All races begin and end on W Hadley Ave across from the Meerscheidt Center. The 5k route runs south on W Hadley Ave, continues to Solano and north to Madrid, makes a U-turn before the Apodaca Baseball field, and returns to the finish. The course is closed to regular traffic. The route has less than 10 ft of elevation gain. Event parking is available at Paz Baseball Fields and the Las Cruces Skating Park parking lot. A $5 per-person group discount applies for groups of four or more who register at the same time; free 1 Mile youth entrants may not register with a group to obtain the discount.
