About the race
The Jackalope Race takes place in Doña Ana County, New Mexico on October 18, 2026. This is the third edition and includes new sections added to the course. Events held under the Jackalope Race banner are a trail run, a Run+Ride format, and a bike race. The bike races are USAC sanctioned.
The trail run offers three distances. The Run+Ride combines running the small course then biking the medium course. The bike race allows only mountain or gravel bikes and uses the same distance options; the large course consists of completing the small course, returning to the start/finish, then completing the medium course.
Distances:
- Small course: 20K / 12 MI
- Medium course: 47K / 29 MI
- Large course: 65K / 41 MI (small plus medium)
Podiums are awarded to the top three men and women in each distance, each category, and the following age groups: under 18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Entry fee is $65.00.
Additional event details include packet pick up at MasBuds 11:00 to 1:00 and Outdoor Adventures Saturday 17th 2:00 to 5:00 PM. The race start location is Gasline Road at coordinates 32.20819 N, 106.63875 W. Course reconnaissance is suggested. Parking is on the quarry road; do not park on the gasline or powerline road.
For Run+Ride, only MTB or gravel bikes are allowed, no inner tubes, and bikes must have a number plate in the designated area before the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
