Elder Creek Night Runs
The Elder Creek Night Runs take place in the desert landscape of Anza, California, on the lands of the Cahuilla Band of Indians. This nighttime event is scheduled to coincide with the Full Buck Moon, providing a setting for runners to travel through single track trails and wide dirt roads under the stars. The vegetation along the course features red shank and manzanita trees.
The event utilizes a 4.6 mile looped course. This design allows participants to pass an aid station and their parked vehicles after every loop completed. The race options include:
- 50k (7 loops)
- 30k (4 loops)
- 1/2 Marathon (3 loops)
- 9 Miler (2 loops)
Participants are required to use a headlamp to participate in the race, and trail shoes are recommended due to the terrain. All finishers receive a commemorative shirt, a sticker, and a medal. The event is woman-led and welcomes both experienced ultramarathon participants and those new to trail racing. The course offers various distances to accommodate different preferences for night running in a desert environment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
