Course and format
Most events use a 2-mile loop on double-track dirt roads. The loop has about 128 feet of elevation gain; the 100-mile course accumulates roughly 6,000 feet of climbing. The half marathon follows reservation roads for about 13 miles and includes about 1,500 feet of climb, with aid stations at miles 4.5, 6, 7.5 and 10 offering water, fruit and small foods. An aid station at the softball field will offer real food and there are non-porta-potty restrooms. Runners in the timed events complete as many loops as they can in their allotted time; 24-hour entrants who reach 82 miles may be offered the option to continue toward 100 miles.
Logistics and awards
RV parking is available for a limited number of spots (20) on a first-come basis. Tent camping is allowed on the softball field and car camping in the adjacent dirt lot; half marathon entrants are not permitted to camp overnight to preserve space for timed-event participants. Participants receive a race shirt and a medal on completion; top finishers receive handcrafted awards. 100-mile finishers receive buckles, and 5k participants receive a buckle but not a shirt. A nearby hotel and casino is a few miles from the race site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
