Cahuilla Rez Ultra
Cahuilla Rez Ultra is a multi-event running weekend on the Cahuilla Indian Reservation in Anza, California. The event raises funds for the Cahuilla Band of Indians Youth and Family Committee. Racing takes place on a runnable 2 mile double-track dirt loop on reservation roads, with an aid station at the softball field offering hot and cold real foods and non-porta-potty bathrooms.
The 100 mile event uses the same 2 mile loop and accumulates roughly 8,500 feet of climbing over 100 miles. The loop has about 170 feet of elevation gain. The half marathon follows reservation roads for about 13 miles and gains roughly 1,500 feet; it features four basic aid stations at miles 4.5, 6, 7.5 and 10.
A new 2026 rule limits official results in fixed-time races to the mileage completed in the registered race; 24 hour participants will not be allowed to continue past 24 hours to pursue a 100 mile result. No mid-race changes between events are allowed after registration closes.
Camping and parking: RV parking is allowed at no additional cost and is limited to 20 spots. Tent camping is allowed on the softball field and car camping is allowed in the adjacent dirt parking lot. Half marathon entrants are not offered overnight camping to preserve space for fixed-time participants.
Participant items and awards: all participants receive a race shirt as part of pre-race materials and a completion medal; 5k entrants receive a medal only. Top finishers receive handcrafted awards and 100 mile finishers receive custom belt buckles. Red Road Racing operates as a nonprofit 501c3; remaining race funds go to the tribe's Youth and Family programming. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
