Courses and rules
The fixed-time races (6/12/24 hours) and the 100 mile race use a runnable 2-mile loop on double track dirt road. The loop has about 170 ft of elevation gain, and the full 100 mile course accumulates about 8,500 ft of climb. The half marathon covers reservation roads and has about 1,500 ft of climb, with four aid stations at miles 4.5, 6, 7.5 and 10.
A 2026 rule change limits official results to the mileage completed within the chosen race. Runners signed up for a fixed-time race will not be allowed to continue past that time to earn a 100 mile result. Mid-race changes to a different race are not allowed.
Logistics and awards
An aid station will be located at the softball field with hot and prepared foods and non-porta-potty bathrooms. RV parking is available at no extra cost but limited to 20 spots on a first come, first served basis. Tent and car camping are allowed in designated areas; half marathon entries are not given overnight camping to save space for 24 hour participants. Finishers receive medals and shirts as noted in event materials; 100 mile finishers receive buckles. Funds remaining after race costs go to the Cahuilla Band of Indians Youth and Family Committee.
