About the race
Eerie Erie is a Halloween themed road and trail race held by the Erie Optimist Club. The event uses routes through historic downtown Erie and the Coal Creek open space trail system. The longer course passes by Pleasant Hill Cemetery and offers panoramic views along that section.
The event includes multiple race options and a separate kids Goblin Run. It is designated as an official BOLDERBoulder qualifier, so finishing times from the race may be used to qualify for BOLDERBoulder wave placement. Course maps are available for the 5k and 10k.
Additional event details include on-site registration with a higher fee for race day sign ups, packet pick up before the races, and an awards ceremony held after the races conclude. Registrations completed by 12pm on October 19 will receive a shirt; registrations after that date do not receive a shirt. The races proceed rain or shine.
Race policies noted by the organizer state that dogs and strollers are allowed but should start from the back for participant safety; dogs must be kept on a short leash. Parking is available along streets of Erie and in public parking lots at Coal Creek Park. Eerie Erie serves as the primary fundraiser for the Optimist Club of Erie, a nonprofit that funds youth programs and activities in the community.
