About the race
The Edison Park Turkey Trot is a community running event in Edison Park, Chicago, held on November 26, 2026. The event takes place at Edison Park - Northwest Highway & Oshkosh, 6750 N Northwest Highway, Chicago, IL 60631.
The event began in 1995 and held its first race in 1996 with over 500 runners. Over the following years it has expanded and now welcomes over 6,000 participants on Thanksgiving morning. A local committee organizes the event with the stated goals of bringing people together and raising money for charities; the race committee reports having donated well over a million dollars to various charities.
The program includes race entries and sponsor levels. Listed entry prices include a 5K Run/Walk at $25 and the Gobble Gallop at $20; the Gobble Gallop is open to ages 3 to 8. Sponsor levels and listed prices include Premier Sponsor for $1,100, Gold Sponsor for $575, Silver Sponsor for $375, and Bronze Sponsor for $225.
