Railway Races

About the race

The Railway Races are an inaugural running event on the Ecusta Trail in Hendersonville, North Carolina, presented by Aetna. The event begins and ends at the Hendersonville Welcome Center and uses a paved greenway out-and-back route with gentle grades and clear course markings. GPS routes are available for the courses, and race photos are provided to participants.

This is a professional chip timed event using the MyLaps timing system; timing chips are affixed to race bibs and timing mats are placed along the course and at the finish. The event offers an in-person option and a virtual option; virtual participants receive race apparel and finisher items by mail. If the event must be modified or converted to virtual, in-person registrations will be transferred to the virtual option and participant swag will be mailed.

Race policies include options to transfer to the virtual event, request a deferral up to 15 days before race day, or change race distances within the event subject to any applicable fees and restrictions. Registrations are non-refundable. The event is stroller friendly and allows dogs on short leashes, with participants responsible for their pets. The Railway Races support Bike.Walk.HVL and provide awards, custom inaugural finisher medals, and race shirts with specific deadline and fee terms.
