Railway 5k & 1 Mile
The Railway 5k & 1 Mile is an inaugural running event on the Ecusta Trail in Hendersonville, North Carolina, taking place on September 12, 2026. The event is presented by Aetna and uses the Ecusta Trail, a former railroad corridor now serving as a shared-use greenway that links Hendersonville and Brevard.
The event offers two distances and an option to participate virtually for the 5K. Race logistics note a well-marked, spectator-friendly course and chip timing for accurate results. Packet pickup is provided on race day at the Trailhead Pavilion and the Hendersonville Welcome Center parking lot. The event aligns with Friends of Ecusta Trail and includes an option to donate to trail development and stewardship.
Entry inclusions listed by the organizer include a short sleeve Bella Canvas event shirt (Adult and Youth sizes) available free until August 16, a commemorative finisher medal for all participants, a goody bag, complimentary race photos, and a beer for participants aged 21 and older at Oklawaha Brewing.
