East Haven Community Classic
The East Haven Community Classic is a community road race held at the East Haven Town Green on Hemingway Avenue in East Haven, CT. The main event is a 5K road race that follows a flat, fast course through residential neighborhoods and the East Haven business district, passing Town Hall and the historic Old Stone Church. All proceeds benefit the East Haven Police Athletic League, which provides sports programs for local youth.
Race weekend includes an almost one mile fun run and a handcycle or racing wheelchair division for the 5K. Early packet pick-up is available the day before at Marathon Sports in Branford, and same-day packet pick-up is available on race day. Registration is handled through the online portal and remains open on race day.
Entry fee structure includes early and later registration tiers for the 5K, a reduced fee for participants 18 years and under, a group discount for multiple registrants, and a separate fee for the kids fun run. Awards recognize the top three overall finishers in male, female, and non-binary categories and first place in each age group from 12 and under through 80 plus. All 5K finishers receive a finisher medal.
