East Grinstead Triathlon
The East Grinstead Triathlon takes place on 9 May 2027 in East Grinstead and is organised as a pool-to-road multisport event. It is held in its 40th year and includes several race formats for different preferences and ages.
- Sprint Triathlon: 400 m swim, 26 km bike, 5 km run
- Sprint Triathlon Relay: teams of 2 or 3
- Try a Tri and Youth (15–19): 200 m swim, 11 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Aquabike: 400 m swim, 26 km bike
The Sprint Triathlon begins with a 400 m swim at Kings Leisure Centre, followed by a 26 km undulating bike route through the villages of Forest Row and Hartfield, and finishes with two laps totalling 5 km around East Grinstead town. The Sprint Triathlon Relay is run as a single relay with one team member swimming, another cycling and a final member running.
The Try a Tri uses the same short course for the youth category and offers 200 m pool swims, an 11 km bike through Ashurst Wood and a 2.5 km town run. The Aquabike covers the swim and bike legs of the Sprint Triathlon only.
A race recce is scheduled for Saturday 25 April to familiarise participants with the bike and run courses; capacity for the recce is limited. Clubs can enter a dedicated club wave to start together when entering with larger numbers. Entries are managed via the British Triathlon entry system.
