The IKEA Marathon
The IKEA Marathon is a marathon distance race held entirely inside the Croydon IKEA store. The route is multi-lapped to total 26.2 miles, and the course runs through aisles, past tills and up the store travelator. The event is limited to 100 places, with 80 allocated to general sale, and the event is currently full.
The race is organised by Sussex Trail Events. Entry rules include a minimum age of 18 on the event date. Entry fees were listed as Affiliated £80.00 and Unaffiliated £82.00. Entries opened on 26 June 2026 and closed on 6 December 2026.
Race operations reflect the working environment of the store. No spectators are allowed, and a strict 6 hour cut off applies. The usual aid station will have a Swedish theme and may include items such as meatballs or lingonberry sandwiches. Finishers receive a bespoke self assembly marathon medal and a unique finisher t shirt. Sixteen percent of proceeds will be donated to Shelter charity.
