The IKEA Marathon
The IKEA Marathon is a marathon-length road race held entirely inside the Croydon IKEA store on 13 December 2026. The course is multi-lapped to make up the full 26.2 miles, using store aisles, travelators and tills as part of the route. Spectators are not allowed because the event takes place within a working retail environment.
Entry was limited to 100 places, with 80 allocated to general sale; the event is full and no new entries are available. The minimum age for participants is 18 on the event date. Entry fees were listed as Affiliated £80.00 and Unaffiliated £82.00. Entries opened on 26 June 2026 and closed on 6 December 2026.
Aid stations will follow a Swedish theme with food examples mentioned such as meatballs and lingonberry sandwiches. Finishers receive a bespoke self-assembly marathon medal and a unique finisher t-shirt. There is a strict 6 hour cut off due to the venue being a working store. Sixteen percent of proceeds will be donated to Shelter charity.
No refunds or transfers are permitted for this race. An ARC permit was noted as pending and the event listed the store as the location in Croydon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
