East Devon 8 Trigs 2026
East Devon 8 Trigs takes place on 3 October 2026 at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club in Devon. The event offers three self navigation route options and allows solo entrants or pairs of two. It is open to runners and walkers and uses GPS tracking.
Distances offered:
- 3 Trigs Half Marathon (approximately 21 km)
- 6 Trigs Marathon (approximately 42 km)
- 8 Trigs Ultramarathon (approximately 53 km)
All routes start at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club and follow the South West Coast Path to West Down Beacon. From there routes head inland across Woodbury Common. The half route returns after Woodbury trigpoint. The marathon crosses the river Otter and climbs to Beacon Hill before returning via High Peak. The ultra continues to Buckton Hill and Weston Cliff then returns via High Peak. Routes will be run in the reverse direction for 2026.
The event is not way marked, so basic navigation skills are required. Participants must stamp a card at each trigpoint to prove visits. A suggested route and a GPX file will be available on Outdoor Active and the Explorer 115 map covers the full area. Event base facilities include car parking, a bar, a cafe and hot showers. One trigpoint currently has restricted access and an alternative marker is indicated on the route notes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
