START FITNESS FAST 5000
The START FITNESS FAST 5000 is a 5 km road race held on 13 June 2026 at Torbay Velopark, Penwill Way, Paignton TQ4 5JR. The course is a closed road circuit in South Devon described as flat and designed for fast times. The event holds an England Athletics licence number 30825 and a course accuracy certificate 24/12.
The event programme includes separate A and B races. It also hosts the Peninsula Trophy, a county competition between Devon and Cornwall that has been expanded to include Masters categories. Team scoring for the Peninsula Trophy is organised by age group: Senior teams count four scorers with up to six runners; Men’s and Women’s 40 plus and 50 plus teams count three scorers with up to four runners; Men’s and Women’s 60 plus teams count two scorers with up to three runners.
Prizes for the A race are issued as Start Fitness vouchers: first place male and female receive £125, second place £75 and third place £50. Entry options listed include a 5 km over 16 category priced at £18.50 and a 5 km under 16 category priced at £10.50.
