Dunstable Downs Half Marathon

The Dunstable Downs Half Marathon is a trail race held on the National Trust estate at Dunstable Downs in Bedfordshire (LU6 2GY). The route covers 21.2 km with over 450 m of climbing and follows footpaths, ridges and quarry trails.

The course starts and finishes at the National Trust Countryside Centre. The first quarter passes the Tree Cathedral and Bison Hill before a full loop of Kensworth Quarry, with an aid station around 10 km. Runners return to the Downs for an out and back to Five Knoles and then follow the lower Downs trails back toward the event base. The route is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons and marshals at sharp turns; runners are advised to carry a digital route map on a watch or phone.

Two on-route aid stations are provided at 6.7 km and 13.7 km offering water, coke, gels and snacks. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and holds a UTMB World Series index. Practical facilities at the event base include car parking, toilets and a bag drop. Entry is open to runners aged 17 and over with no qualification requirement. The race has a maximum field of 250 runners and a four hour time limit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
