Route and practical information
The route starts at the National Trust centre and includes Tree Cathedral, Bison Hill, a loop of Kensworth Quarry, an out-and-back to Five Knoles, and lower Downs trails. The majority of elevation is concentrated in the first and last 5km, with a flatter mid-section around the quarry. The course is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons, with marshals at sharp turnings. Runners are recommended to carry a digital route map on a watch or phone.
There is one on-route aid station/checkpoint around 10.7km offering water, Coke, Precision Fuel & Hydration PF 30 gels and jelly babies. The event base provides toilets, a bag drop, car parking (£3.50 or free for National Trust members) and an on-site cafe serving hot and cold food after the race. Trail running shoes are recommended. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers and in multiple age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
