Courses and logistics
The swim is a triangle course off the middle Honeymoon Island beach; depth varies with tide up to about 8-12 feet. The bike course is a 6 mile loop over the Dunedin Causeway and around Honeymoon Island, repeated twice for a 12 mile total. The run uses parking lot asphalt and a hard-packed trail through the Osprey Trailhead; the run has been modified to two laps due to storm damage. Waves enter the water in timed intervals. Park entry for athletes is covered by the Rotary Club and volunteers will direct parking and packet pickup.
Race rules and services
Disposable timing chips are provided and worn on the left ankle. Athletes must be body marked to enter transition. Helmets are required and must be fastened before mounting the bike and kept on until racked. No radios or headsets are allowed on the bike. Awards include overall, masters and age-group placings plus category awards for Clydesdale, Athena, military, novice, fat tire, adaptive and relay teams.
