Event Details
The Dundee 10k is a 10 km road race scheduled for early June. The route is described as flat and scenic, running between Broughty Ferry and Monifieth. The event has a measured course and will be chip-timed.
Event Day Information
Registration opens at 8:00 AM on the Castle Green in Broughty Ferry. Runners are asked to arrive by 9:00 AM to collect their race number. The race starts at 9:30 AM on Castle Approach, which will be closed to traffic. The finish is in the same location as the start.
Participants must be at least 15 years old on the event date. Runners should arrive ready to run, as there will be no changing facilities or showers. A kit drop area will be available, but the organizers do not accept responsibility for lost or damaged belongings.
The Course and Support
The course follows a flat route to Monifieth, includes a loop, and returns to Broughty Ferry. There is a water station on the course that participants pass at approximately the 4 km and 6 km marks. The route will have marshals, directional signage, and mile markers. In keeping with UK Athletics rules, in-ear headphones are not permitted unless medically prescribed, but bone-conducting headphones are allowed.
Results and Prizes
Provisional results will be available shortly after finishing, with final results posted on the Scottish Athletics website within a week. A prize presentation is scheduled for approximately 11:00 AM. Cash prizes are awarded for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as for various age categories and team prizes.
Practical Information
The organizers recommend active travel, public transport, or car sharing. The start is on a cycle route and a short walk from a bus stop. If driving, parking is available in nearby streets, the Broughty Ferry Beach car park, and along The Esplanade. First aid cover will be provided on the day.
