Dundee 10k
The Dundee 10k is an accurately measured running event held on a flat and scenic route between Broughty Ferry and Monifieth. This race follows a successful test event and marks the first open edition of the competition. The course utilizes public paths and includes an out-and-back section.
The event offers the following distance:
- 10 km
Participants follow a route that begins and ends at Castle Approach, which is closed to vehicle traffic during the race. The course is fully marshalled and features directional signage alongside mile markers. Runners pass a water station twice, at approximately the 4 km and 6 km marks. The race is chip-timed, though prizes are determined by gun time. Finishers receive a customized medal, and cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as winners in age categories ranging from U20 to 70-79.
The event is hosted at Castle Green in Broughty Ferry, where registration takes place. The location is accessible via cycle route 1 and public transport, with bus stops and parking areas located nearby. There are no changing or shower facilities available on-site, but a kit storage area is provided. Participants must be at least 15 years old. The event is organized by Dundee Roadrunners in partnership with Monifieth High School and is licensed by Scottish Athletics. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
