Celebrate the season with the Festive Trail Runs at Glamis Castle on 6 December, choose the family 1 mile or scenic 5 and 10 mile trails. All finishers get a bespoke bauble or medal, festive treats and event merch, and dogs are welcome in 5 and 10 mile races.

Event overview

Glamis Castle Festive Trail Runs take place on 6 December 2026 at Glamis Castle, Angus (DD8 1RK). The event is organised by Wild Deer Events and uses live chip timing provided by Timing Up North. The setting is the private grounds of Glamis Castle, which include woodland and parkland areas and historic architecture. Parking is available on-site for participants and spectators.

Distances and entry details

1 mile - Festive Family (ages 3 to 11; adult guardian runs free)
5 mile - Festive 5 Mile Trail Run (minimum age 11)
10 mile - Festive 10 Mile Trail Run (minimum age 15; held as two laps)

This event is Canicross friendly for the 5 mile and 10 mile races only. One well-controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Route maps are provided for the family 1 mile, the 5 mile, and the 10 mile (two laps).

Race services and finish

All finishers receive a bespoke event bauble or medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a festive snack and drink; children receive a selection box.
