Event Overview

The Duncan Ridge Trail 50K/30K is a trail running event in the North Georgia Mountains. It takes place at Vogel State Park, starting and finishing at Lake Trahlyta. The event offers two race distances.

Distances and Course

The course uses the Coosa Backcountry Trail and the Duncan Ridge Trail. The route is primarily on trails, with one short paved road section in the park.

  • 50K: This is an out-and-back course. The turnaround point is at Fish Gap at Forest Service road 88.
  • 30K: This is a loop course. It follows the same initial route before turning onto Forest Service road 39 at White Oak Stomp and returning via the Coosa Backcountry Trail.

Both races start in front of cabin 20 and finish at the bridge leading to shelter #1. The course will be open for 10 hours. There are several aid station cut-off times, with a strictly enforced final cut-off at the 27.5-mile aid station at 4:30 PM.

Logistics

Proceeds from the event go to park volunteers. Registration closes on the Sunday before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
