Duncan Ridge Trail - November 21, 2026
The Duncan Ridge Trail event is a trail ultramarathon held at Vogel State Park, Lake Trahlyta, near Blairsville, Georgia. It offers two distance options and runs largely on singletrack using the Coosa Backcountry Trail and the Duncan Ridge Trail. The course includes more than 10,000 feet of elevation gain and is presented as an out and back for the 50K.
- 50K out and back via Coosa Backcountry Trail and Duncan Ridge Trail
- 30K option follows DRT to White Oak Stomp then FS 39 to Wolf Pen Gap
All running is on trails except for a quarter mile of paved road inside Vogel State Park. The 50K turnaround is at Fish Gap on FS 88 at about mile 15.5; the finish for both races is the bridge leading to shelter number 1 under the Duncan Ridge banner. Runners may elect to switch to the 30K at the second aid station but must inform an aid station volunteer.
The course has a ten hour open window with strict cutoffs; the turnaround at mile 15.5 must be reached within five hours and passage at AS#7 (mile 27.5) within nine hours. Aid stations are located at AS#1 FS 107 (3.5 miles), AS#2 FS 39 White Oak Stomp (8 miles), AS#3 FS 4 Mulky Gap (13 miles), AS#4 FS 88 Fish Gap (15.5 miles), AS#5 FS 4 Mulky Gap (18 miles), AS#6 FS 39 White Oak Stomp (23 miles) and AS#7 FS 107 (27.5 miles). Each aid station is stocked with water, sports drink and typical trail race snacks. Proceeds are returned to the park volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
