Duncan Ridge Trail 50K/30K : November 22, 2025, Vogel State Park, GA
The Duncan Ridge Trail event offers two trail race distances:
- 50K
- 30K
The courses use the Coosa Backcountry Trail and the Duncan Ridge Trail and include more than 10,000 feet of elevation gain. The race starts and finishes at Vogel State Park’s Lake Trahlyta. The finish line is on the bridge leading to shelter #1 under the Duncan Ridge banner. All running is on trails except for a roughly 1/4 mile paved section inside the park. Proceeds from the event go to park volunteers.
Course details, cut-offs and aid stations
The 50K is an out-and-back that follows the Coosa Backcountry Trail north, crosses Highway 180, then follows the Duncan Ridge Trail to Fish Gap (Forest Service road 88) as the turnaround. The 30K follows the same initial route to White Oak Stomp, then turns onto FS 39 to Wolf Pen Gap before returning to the Coosa Backcountry Trail to the finish. Runners may elect to switch to the 30K at Aid Station 2 but must inform an aid station volunteer. The course is open for 10 hours with enforced cut-offs; runners must reach the 15.5-mile turnaround within 5 hours and Aid Station 7 (mile 27.5) within 9 hours. Aid stations are stocked with water, sports drink and typical trail-race snacks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
