Duncan Ridge Trail
The Duncan Ridge Trail event in Blairsville, GA offers two trail distances:
- 50K
- 30K
The course starts near Cabin 20 at Vogel State Park and finishes on the bridge leading to Shelter 1 under the Duncan Ridge banner. Runners follow the Coosa Backcountry Trail north out of the park, cross Highway 180, and connect with the Duncan Ridge Trail. Nearly all running is on singletrack or dirt roads except for a quarter mile of paved road inside the park. The route includes more than 10,000 feet of elevation gain and an elevation profile that represents the outward leg of an out and back course.
The 50K is an out and back that turns at Fish Gap at FS Road 88 around mile 15.5. The 30K follows the DRT to White Oak Stomp, turns onto FS 39, continues to Wolf Pen Gap at Highway 180, and returns to the finish via the Coosa Backcountry Trail. Aid stations are stocked with water, sports drink, and typical trail race snacks. Aid station locations include AS#1 at Coosa Backcountry Trail and FS 107 (3.5 miles), AS#2 at DRT and FS 39 White Oak Stomp (8 miles), AS#3 at DRT and FS 4 Mulky Gap (13 miles), AS#4 at DRT and FS 88 Fish Gap (15.5 miles), AS#5 at Mulky Gap (18 miles), AS#6 at White Oak Stomp (23 miles), and AS#7 at Coosa Backcountry Trail and FS 107 (27.5 miles).
