Duncan Ridge Trail
The Duncan Ridge Trail races take place at Vogel State Park near Blairsville, GA. The event offers two distances: 50K and 30K. The routes follow the Coosa Backcountry Trail and the Duncan Ridge Trail and include an out-and-back 50K that turns around at Fish Gap (FS road 88). The organizer notes more than 10,000 feet of elevation gain. Nearly all running is on trails except for a quarter mile of paved road inside the park. The start area is described as in front of cabin 20 and the finish is at the bridge leading to shelter #1 under the Duncan Ridge banner.
The 30K follows the Coosa Backcountry Trail to White Oak Stomp, then uses FS 39 and Wolf Pen Gap to return to the Coosa Backcountry Trail. The course layout lists seven aid stations with mile locations; aid stations are stocked with water, sports drink and typical trail-race snack items. The course is open for ten hours with strict cut-offs; there is a turn-around cut-off at mile 15.5 and a later cut-off at AS#7 (mile 27.5).
