Drop13 Big Cottonwood Canyon Half Marathon and 5K
The Drop13 Big Cottonwood Canyon event features a point to point half marathon that begins near Solitude Ski Resort and finishes in Cottonwood Heights City. The half marathon covers 13.1 miles and descends about 3000 feet from the start to the finish. The route passes river runoff areas and forested sections where plants are noted to be in full green.
The event offers in-person and virtual options. The virtual entry includes mailed items listed by the organizer as a bib, a medal, and a shirt. The 5K is an out and back course that starts at the finish line used for the longer race.
Finishers of the half marathon receive a four inch finisher medal. Additional awards include a personal record medal for those who set a half marathon PR and a Drop13lbs medal awarded on an honor system to participants who report a 13 pound loss during training and race participation.
