Drop13 Big Cottonwood Canyon Half Marathon & 5K
The event takes place on June 13, 2026, in the Big Cottonwood Canyon area near Holladay and Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The main route begins at Solitude Ski Resort and follows a downhill road into Cottonwood Heights City, descending about 3,000 feet over the half marathon distance.
The program includes a half marathon and a 5K, plus virtual and special categories. The 5K is an out and back course that starts at the finish line. A slow racer category is offered for participants who require up to four hours to complete the half marathon. There is also a VIP registration option and a pacer role that is available by invitation only. A virtual race option ships a bib, medal, and shirt to participants at no shipping cost.
Finisher recognition includes four inch finisher medals. Additional medals are awarded for personal record achievements and for participants who report losing 13 pounds during training and race participation, based on an honor system. Age group awards are also part of the event prize structure.
