Driscoll’s Strawberry Classic
The Driscoll’s Strawberry Classic is an annual running event held in the Temple Terrace community. Marking its 45th year in 2026, the event is organized by the Tampa Bay Runners and provides a variety of distance options for participants. The races take place on a course that winds through the local area, with race proceeds benefiting the Children's Dream Fund and Meals on Wheels of Tampa.
Participants can choose from several distinct distances:
- 10k (6 miles)
- 5k (3 miles)
- 15k Challenge (combination of the 10k and 5k)
- 1-mile Fun Run
The 15k Challenge involves completing the 10k race before the start of the 5k event. The 1-mile Fun Run is available for younger participants as well as adults who prefer to walk or run a shorter distance. For those unable to attend the live event in Temple Terrace, a virtual option is available where participants select their own time and location to complete their chosen distance.
The event site features music, awards, and various exhibitors. Runners are provided with snacks, including strawberries. All participants in the live and virtual races receive race packages that include a shirt, a bib, and a medal for each race completed. Due to limited parking, the organizers suggest carpooling to the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
