Driftless Dash 5K
The Driftless Dash is a community 5K color dash and fundraiser held on May 29, 2026 at Veteran's Park in La Crescent, Minnesota. The event supports the La Crescent High School girls' basketball team and directs registration proceeds toward jerseys, equipment, transportation, and scholarships.
The course runs through the Driftless region's bluff country. Multiple color stations along the route use non-toxic, biodegradable powder and participants receive color packets. Both the start and finish lines are located at Veteran's Park. Free parking is available at the park and on Park Street.
On race day participants pick up an event t-shirt, a goody bag, and color packets at registration. Registration options listed by the organizer include an Individual entry for $35 with a t-shirt, goody bag, color packets, and post-race celebration access; a Team option for groups of five or more at $30 per person with a group start and team photo; and a Virtual option for $25 that includes mailed t-shirt, goody bag items, and color packets so supporters can participate remotely.
A post-race celebration follows the run, with local food trucks, drinks available for purchase, music, and community photos. Sponsors named for the event include Time Out Tavern, Alerus Financial, and Siegert Dental. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
