Draper Mile (44th Annual)
The Draper Mile is a one mile road race held in conjunction with the Steppin' Out Festival in Blacksburg. The course runs entirely on Draper Road and is mostly downhill, with the finish located within the festival area. Finish times are typically about 10 to 12 seconds faster than a track mile.

The 300 meter Kids Fun Run covers the final 300 meters of the mile course, sharing the same finish line. The fun run is free to enter but requires registration; all fun run finishers receive a medal.
Race divisions include Men's Elite, Women's Elite, and Open. Men's Elite is for runners under 5:30 for the mile and Women's Elite is for runners under 7:00; Open is available to all ages. Masters, grandmasters, and super grandmasters are recognized with separate cash awards.
Awards and prizes include cash and gift certificates. A course record bonus is available. Overall and age group awards are distributed, with top three finishers in each age division receiving awards.
