Event Overview
The Downtown Doubler is an annual running event held in New Albany, Indiana. The competition takes place at the City of New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater and utilizes the Ohio River Greenway for its course. Participants run along the scenic riverfront with views of downtown Louisville. The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 30k (Two loops of the 15k course)
- 15k (Single loop)
- 8k (Two loops of the 4k course)
- 4k (Single loop)
- Virtual options for all four distances
Course Details
The route follows the Ohio River Greenway, which includes multi-use paths and a roadway through 70 acres of wetland and bottomland forest. For those participating in the 30k distance, the course must be completed twice. Walkers are permitted in the 30k event provided they maintain a pace of at least 12:52 per mile, as the course closes at 11:30 a.m.
Participant Information
Registrants receive different shirt styles based on their chosen distance: a long sleeve technical 1/4 zip for the 30k, a long sleeve gender-specific technical shirt for the 15k, and a short sleeve technical shirt for the 4k and 8k. All finishers receive a medal. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in master, grandmaster, and various age group categories for the in-person events.
