Double Dipsea : Stinson Beach to Mill Valley and back
The Double Dipsea is a point to point out and back running event on the Dipsea Trail that covers 13.7 miles, starting and finishing in Stinson Beach with a turnaround in Mill Valley. The event has been held since 1970 and 2027 will be the 57th running.
The race uses a handicapping system: all divisions except the male under 40 division receive a head start. Race waves are adjusted each year. The event also applies time cutoffs for the course; these are described as generous.
Entry details for 2027 include a registration period that opens on May 18, 2027 and closes on August 21, 2027, with a registration fee of $180. The event takes place at 3512 Shoreline Hwy, Stinson Beach, CA 94970.
Results from recent years show a wide age range among top finishers. In 2026 the overall winner was a 66 year old female, and the top ten included three females and seven males with ages ranging from 15 to 67.
The description of the event emphasizes the trail route and the handicapped start structure rather than finishing times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
