Event Overview
The Dorney Triathlon takes place at Dorney Lake, an Olympic venue near Windsor. The event offers several race formats including Sprint, Standard, and Super Sprint triathlon distances. An Aquabike option (swim-bike) and relay options for teams of two or three are also available.
Race Distances
The triathlon distances are:
- Super Sprint: 400m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run.
- Sprint: 750m swim, 19km bike, 5km run.
- Standard: 1500m swim, 38km bike, 10km run.
The Aquabike options cover the swim and bike legs of the Sprint (750m swim, 19km bike) and Standard (1500m swim, 38km bike) distances.
Course Details
The course features clear water for the swim leg. The bike and run segments are on flat, scenic grounds. The event is held on closed roads and is a draft-illegal race. Results are chip-timed.
Participation Requirements
To participate, athletes must be a member of British Triathlon. This requires either an annual Core or Ultimate membership or the purchase of a single-use Race Pass. There is a minimum age requirement of 15 years for the Super Sprint and Sprint events, and 17 years for the Standard events. Event volunteers will be present on the course.
