Dorney Triathlon
Dorney Triathlon is held at Dorney Lake in Windsor. The venue is a purpose built 2,200 metre flat water rowing lake owned by Eton College and was used for rowing and canoeing at the London 2012 Olympics.
All disciplines take place within the grounds around the boathouse. The swim uses a looped course in the lake. The bike route runs along the left side of the lake and the run follows the right side as an out and back loop. The grounds and routes are described as flat for both the bike and run. The event is designated draft illegal for the bike discipline.
Event formats include individual and team options. Aquabike entries remove the run and relays allow two or three people to share disciplines. Participation requires British Triathlon membership or a single use race pass and an appropriate race licence. Age restrictions for the May event specify a minimum age of 15 for the Super Sprint and Sprint categories and 17 for the Standard category.
Distances offered
- Super Sprint: 400 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Standard: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
The course starts and finishes near the boathouse and all race activity remains within Dorney Lake grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
