Doomsday 50K & Half Marathon : Cool, CA
Doomsday is a trail event held in Cool, California on December 12, 2026. The event limits entries to 200 runners and both distances start together at the Cool Staging Area, 7200 Saint Florian Court.
Available distances
- 50K, 5,100 feet gain and loss, 9.5 hour finish cutoff, intermediate cutoff at Robie Point
- Half Marathon, 1,250 feet gain and loss, 5 hour finish cutoff, one aid station
Aid stations on the 50K are located approximately at miles 8.88, 13.9, 21.2, 23.1, and 27.8 with named stations such as Knickerbocker Terror and Robie Point Resurrection. The Half Marathon has a single aid station at mile 8.88, Knickerbocker Terror.
Packet pick-up is offered the day before at Auburn CrossFit, 858 High Street, Auburn, CA, and on race morning at the start area. Parking requires a Golden Poppy Pass or a day use pass payable in cash; volunteers will direct parking to the day use lot or overflow areas.
Trekking poles are allowed and both courses are described as hiker and back-of-the-pack friendly. Live tracking and real time results are provided by UltraLive. Course maps and GPX files are available through providers including Strava, Footpath, AllTrails, and ultraPacer.
Every participant receives an event shirt and every finisher receives a weighted finisher medallion. Top three men and top three women in each distance receive custom three-dimensional trophies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
