Doomsday is a trail running event in Cool, CA, on December 12, 2026. The event offers two distances and is limited to 200 total runners. Both distances begin at the Cool Staging Area (7200 Saint Florian Court, Cool, CA 95614). Registration closes Mon, Dec 7 at 11:59PM PT.

The 50K course has approximately 5,100 feet of gain and loss and uses a 9.5-hour finish cutoff, with a mandatory intermediate cutoff at Robie Point Aid Station at 2:15pm. The Half Marathon has about 1,250 feet of gain and loss and a 5-hour finish cutoff. Both courses are described as hiker and back-of-the-pack friendly; trekking poles are allowed.
Packet pick-up is offered early on Friday, December 11 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Auburn CrossFit (858 High Street, Auburn, CA) and on race morning at the Race Start (Cool Staging Area).
Parking fees are not included in registration; participants must display a Golden Poppy Pass or purchase a day use pass for $10 (exact cash). Volunteers will direct parking to the Day Use Lot or overflow on Haul Road.
Aid stations for the 50K are at Mile 8.88 Knickerbocker Terror, Mile 13.9 The Dissent of the Descending, Mile 21.2 No Hands Horror, Mile 23.1 Robie Point Resurrection, and Mile 27.8 No Hands Horror. The Half Marathon has one aid station at Mile 8.88 Knickerbocker Terror.
Each participant receives an event shirt with a race graphic and every finisher earns a weighted finisher's medallion. Top-three women and top-three men in each distance receive custom three-dimensional trophies. Live tracking and GPX/route maps are provided for both distances.
