Doomsday in Cool, CA
Doomsday is a trail race event scheduled for December 12, 2026 in Cool, California, with a total field limit of 200 runners. Live tracking and real time results are provided for each distance.
Distances
- 50K: 5,100 feet gain/loss, 9.5 hour finish cutoff, intermediate cutoff at Robie Point Aid Station.
- Half Marathon: 1,250 feet gain/loss, 5 hour finish cutoff.
Both distances start at the Cool Staging Area (7200 Saint Florian Court, Cool, CA 95614). Each course is described as hiker and back-of-the-pack friendly, and trekking poles are allowed.
Packet pick-up is offered Friday, December 11, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Auburn CrossFit, 858 High Street, Auburn, CA, and race morning at the Race Start. Parking fees are not included in registration; a Golden Poppy Pass must be displayed or a day use pass purchased for $10 cash. Volunteers will direct parking to the Day Use Lot or overflow on Haul Road.
Aid stations for the 50K occur at Mile 8.88 Knickerbocker Terror, Mile 13.9 The Dissent of the Descending, Mile 21.2 No Hands Horror, Mile 23.1 Robie Point Resurrection, and Mile 27.8 No Hands Horror. The Half Marathon has an aid station at Mile 8.88 Knickerbocker Terror.
Event swag includes a race shirt and a weighted finisher medallion. Top-three men and top-three women in each distance receive custom three-dimensional trophies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
