Doomsday takes place in Cool, California on December 12, 2026. The event offers two race distances:
- 50K
- Half Marathon
The 50K route has about 5,100 feet of elevation gain and loss. The Half Marathon route has about 1,250 feet of elevation gain and loss. The 50K has a 9.5-hour cutoff at the finish with a mandatory intermediate cutoff at the Robie Point Aid Station at 2:15pm. The Half Marathon has a 5-hour cutoff. The courses are described as hiker and back-of-the-pack friendly, and trekking poles are allowed.
Aid stations on the 50K are located at miles 8.88, 13.9, 21.2, 23.1, and 27.8 with named stations such as Knickerbocker Terror and Robie Point Resurrection. The Half Marathon has one aid station at mile 8.88.
Packet pick-up options include an early session on Friday, December 11, 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Auburn CrossFit (858 High Street, Auburn, CA) and race morning packet pick-up at the Cool Staging Area. Parking fees are not included in registration; entrants should display a Golden Poppy Pass or purchase a day use pass for $10 (exact cash). Every participant receives a race shirt and every finisher receives a weighted finisher's medallion; top three women and top three men in each distance receive custom three-dimensional trophies.
