Dogtown Races
Dogtown Races in Washington, Utah includes multiple distances with start and finish areas at local parks. The half marathon starts at 193 N Old Highway 91 in Hurricane and follows a marked route through Coral Canyon, Highland Park, and toward the Virgin River before finishing on the grass near the Sullivan Park fishing pond. The 10K and 5K start and finish at Sullivan Soccer Park at 965 S Washington Fields Rd. The kids run is held at Sullivan Soccer Park and is organized by the City Youth Council.
The half marathon course description notes a westward start, a right turn at mile 1 onto Foothills Drive, a descent into the Coral Canyon subdivision and a crossing under SR-9 to Coral Canyon Boulevard. The route continues with turns onto E. Grasslands Parkway and Coral Canyon Trail, passes Highland Parkway and Highland Park, crosses Telegraph, follows the Highland South Loop trail, then continues on Telegraph and Landfill Road. Runners move from a short section of dirt trail to the Cottonwood Trail head, descend to the Virgin River, turn toward the Virgin River Boardwalk and Sullivan Park near mile 11.8, and finish on the grass just past the Sullivan Park fishing pond.
Registration received by January 15 guarantees a race shirt and medal. The Dogtown Half serves as a qualifying event for the Utah Half and Full Marathon Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
