Dogtown Races
The Dogtown Races event takes place in Washington and Hurricane, Utah, offering multiple course options through scenic landscapes. The event features distances for various levels of participation, utilizing local trails and park systems.
The available distances include:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 0.55 mile Kids Fun Run
The Half Marathon is a point-to-point course starting in Hurricane. The route travels west through the Coral Canyon subdivision and transitions onto the Coral Canyon Trail. Participants navigate through Highland Park and the Highland South Loop trail before reaching Landfill Road. A short section of the course consists of dirt and gravel before connecting to the paved Cottonwood Trail. Runners negotiate a steep descent toward the Virgin River, eventually following the Virgin River Boardwalk to the finish line at Sullivan Virgin River Soccer Park. Most of this course is on asphalt and paved running trails.
The 10K and 5K races are out-and-back courses that start and finish at Sullivan Park. These routes utilize the Virgin River Trail and Boardwalk. The 10K participants also ascend into the canyon via the Cottonwood Wash Trail. The Kids Fun Run is approximately 0.55 miles long and follows a loop around the soccer fields near the fish pond at Sullivan Park. This children's event is open to participants aged 12 and under.
Check-in and packet pickup take place on the Friday before the event at the Washington City Community Center. No packet pickup is available on the day of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
