Dogtown Races

The Dogtown Races take place in Washington, Utah, offering multiple course lengths through scenic landscapes. The event is a qualifying race for the Utah Half and Full Marathon Series. Participants who register by mid-January are guaranteed a race shirt and a medal.

The event features four distinct distances:

  • 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
  • 10 km
  • 5 km
  • 0.8 miles (Kids Run)

The 13.1 mile course begins at 193 N Old Highway 91 in Hurricane. The route travels west through the Coral Canyon subdivision and follows the Coral Canyon Trail toward Highland Park. After crossing Telegraph and utilizing the Highland South Loop trail, runners transition onto Landfill Road before entering a dirt trail that connects to the paved Cottonwood Trail. This section includes a steep descent toward the Virgin River. The final segment follows the Virgin River Boardwalk and passes through Sullivan Park to a finish line on the grass.

The 10 km and 5 km races both start and finish at Sullivan Soccer Park, located at 965 S Washington Fields Road. The Kids Run is also held at this location and is organized by the City Youth Council. The half marathon course features aid stations positioned at miles 3, 6, 9, 11, and 12, providing water, sports drinks, and energy gels. A gear drop service is available for participants at the half marathon starting line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
