Dirty Dozen 50K - New York
The Dirty Dozen 50K is a looped trail ultramarathon held in Forest Park, Queens on August 29, 2026. The course uses a 2.5 mile loop on the Orange Trail run counterclockwise for a total of twelve laps. Each loop includes roughly 300 feet of elevation gain, producing a substantial cumulative climb over the full distance. The route passes through shaded woods and rolling terrain within the park.
Aid is provided after every lap at a fully stocked station that offers hydration and nutrition. Volunteers staff the aid station and provide on-course support. An overall cutoff of eight hours applies for completing all 12 laps.
Event procedures include bib pickup and a race briefing on race day. Registration is open with limited space and registration closes on August 26, 2026. The race location is accessible by public transportation or car. Late August weather can include heat, humidity, or sudden rain, so participants should plan accordingly and consider appropriate footwear for trails.
The event is organized by a team of New York based ultrarunners who focus on grassroots, accessible events within the five boroughs. The looped format produces repeated contact between runners, volunteers, and spectators and emphasizes a community oriented race experience.
