Event Overview
The Runner's Edge - TOBAY Triathlon & Junior Triathlon is a multisport event held in Oyster Bay, New York. The weekend features a variety of competitions starting at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park. The main triathlon course takes participants through the Town of Oyster Bay, Oyster Bay Cove, Mill Neck, and Brookville.
Course Details
The standard triathlon consists of three segments. It begins with a 1/2 mile swim in the harbor, which is characterized by calm waters. The cycling portion is a 12.3K single loop that includes hilly terrain through local coves, concluding with a flat section toward the finish. The final stage is a 5K run that takes participants toward the Planting Fields Arboretum before returning to the park.
Available Events
The following event categories are available:
- Individual Triathlon: Open to participants ages 14 and older.
- Relay Team: Options for teams consisting of 2 or 3 members.
- AquaBike: A combination of swimming and cycling.
- BikeRun: A competition involving cycling and running.
- Junior Triathlon Short Course: Includes a 100 Yard swim, 2.5 Mile bike, and 1 Mile run.
- Junior Triathlon Long Course: Includes a 200 Yard swim, 2.5 Mile bike, and 1 Mile run.
Participant Information
The Junior Triathlon events take place on Saturday, while the adult and multi-discipline events take place on Sunday. All participants receive a shirt and a custom finisher medal.
