NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social Half Marathon
The event is a half marathon of 13.1 miles held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The course consists of just under four full loops of the park with multiple passes of Center Drive and a final left turn to the finish. The course is USATF-certified.
Festival area, bibs and corrals
The Festival Area is in the Nethermead and is accessible from Center Drive and paths off Well House Drive. Bibs are available for pick up on race day in the Festival Area; NYCRUNS members can opt to have bibs mailed if they register at least 20 days before the event and use a U.S. mailing address. Non-members may add bib mailing for an additional $25. Start corrals are pace-based and assigned by letter (AA-F); corral assignment appears on the bib.
Amenities and course support
Event services include bag check with a single clear-bag policy, portable bathrooms, water and Gatorade on course and at the finish, post-race snacks (pretzels and apples) and an ice cream or ice pop option (including non-dairy). Participants receive a tech shirt (race-day pickup only, sizes not guaranteed) and a finisher medal. One complimentary race photo is provided; additional photos are available for purchase.
Results, awards and policies
Results are posted after the race and emailed to participants. Overall awards for the top three male, female and non-binary finishers are by gun time. Age-group awards (top three in each gender category) are by net/chip time across specified age brackets. Strollers and dogs are not allowed. Handcycle and wheelchair participation is not advised because of course turns. The standard no-refunds, no-transfers policy applies; members have race-credit withdrawal options.
