NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social Half Marathon
The event is a USATF certified half marathon (13.1 miles) held in Prospect Park. The course covers just under four full loops of the park, passes Center Drive three times, and finishes with a final left turn after a sprint up Center Drive.
A Festival Area in the Nethermead provides race-day services and access via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Race amenities include bag check with a single clear bag requirement, portable bathrooms, water and Gatorade on course and at the finish, participant shirts available on race day, event photography, and post-race snacks including pretzels, an apple, and an ice cream or ice pop option with a non-dairy choice. Finishers receive a medal.
Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter AA through F, located on Well House Drive. Bibs are distributed in the Festival Area on race day using a unique QR code; members may receive mailed bibs if registration and mailing conditions are met. Mass transit is recommended; the closest subway stations are the B Q at Prospect Park and the F G at 15th Street Prospect Park. Parking is limited and a recommended drop off point is 101 Prospect Park Southwest.
The event advises that handcycle and wheelchair athletes consider alternative races due to the number of course turns. Standard no-refund no-transfer policies apply. Awards are given to top overall and age group finishers and full results are posted after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
