NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social Half Marathon
The event is a USATF certified Half Marathon (13.1 miles) held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The course consists of just under four full loops of the park, with runners passing Center Drive three times before a final left turn to the finish. The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible from Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive.
Race services include a pace-based start corral system (letters AA through F) located on Well House Drive, bag check with a single clear bag requirement (provided if needed), portable bathrooms, and hydration stations offering water and Gatorade on course and at the finish. Post-race refreshments in the Festival Area include a bagel, an apple, and an ice cream or ice pop option, including non-dairy alternatives. Every participant receives an official race tech shirt and a finisher medal.
Bibs are distributed on race day in the Festival Area; bib mailing is available for members or for an added fee if registered at least 20 days before the event and sent to a U.S. address. Results and awards are posted after the race; overall awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers by gun time, with age group awards by net/chip time across specified age divisions. The organizer does not advise handcycle or wheelchair athletes on this course due to the number of turns. The event follows standard no-refund, no-transfer policies and enforces rules on strollers, dogs, earbuds, confetti, and time limits.
