NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social Half Marathon
This event is a half marathon held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, and is part of the NYCRUNS Ice Cream Social Race Series. The course consists of just under four full loops of the park, with three passes of Center Drive and a final left turn to the finish. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF certified.
The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and provides bib and shirt pickup, bag check, and post-race services. Bag check requires a single clear bag (18 x 24 inches); event staff reserve the right to search bag contents. Portable bathrooms are available along the course and after the finish. Water and Gatorade are provided on course and at the finish.
Post-race refreshments include bottled water, Gatorade, fruit, a bagel with a schmear, and a choice of an ice cream cup or a non-dairy frozen treat. Every participant receives a tech shirt on race day and a finisher medal at the finish. Race photos are available; one photo per runner is offered as a free download in the event gallery.
NYCRUNS members receive benefits including free bib mailing (if registration occurs at least 20 days before the event and the shipping address is in the U.S.), a 10% race discount, and other membership perks. If a bib is not mailed, bib pickup is available race morning in the Festival Area and requires a unique QR code from the NYCRUNS Dashboard.
The event uses pace based start corrals. Results are posted online after the race and awards are given to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers by gun time, plus age group awards by chip time across standard age divisions.
