NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social Half Marathon
The event is a half marathon in Prospect Park that finishes with a Festival Area in the Nethermead and a post-race ice cream or ice pop treat (non-dairy options available). The race distance is 13.1 miles.
The course uses just under four full loops of the park, passes Center Drive three times, and finishes with a final left turn and a sprint up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses for this event are USATF certified. Start corrals are pace-based and assigned by letter (AA-F); assignments appear on the bib and the corrals are located on Well House Drive.
The Festival Area provides bib pickup on race day, bag check with a single clear-bag policy, portable bathrooms, hydration on course and at the finish, participant shirt distribution (shirt sizes are not guaranteed), a finisher medal at the finish, and event photography. Bibs can be mailed to NYCRUNS members at no cost or added for a fee for non-members when requested at registration; mailed bibs require registration at least 20 days before the race and a U.S. mailing address.
Mass transit is recommended. Closest subway stations include the B/Q at Prospect Park and the F/G at 15th St-Prospect Park; nearby bus stops and Citi Bike stations are listed for access. Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised to register for this half marathon because of the number of turns.
Pricing varies by date and membership status, with a member discount available. Results are emailed and posted after the race; overall and age-group awards are offered. Standard no-refund, no-transfer policies apply; additional race rules and time limit requirements are enforced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
