Event Overview
The Dirty Dog Trail Run is a running event for participants with or without dogs. It takes place at the Midland City Forest in Midland, Michigan.
Distances
The event offers the following distances:
- 10K Run
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 mile walk
Course & Terrain
The 5K and 10K courses use a combination of unpaved two-track and single-track trails through the 520-acre Midland City Forest. The terrain includes flat sections and hills. The 1-mile walk follows a flat, unpaved course through the woods.
Schedule & Timing
The event uses chip timing. Different start windows are suggested for various participant groups: runners without dogs, runners with dogs, walkers without dogs, and walkers with dogs. This is intended to minimize passing on the course.
Registration & Amenities
Registration is available online. Signing up before August 1 helps avoid late fees. Same-day registration is also available. Participants who pre-register have the option to purchase a t-shirt. Post-race refreshments include fruit, snacks, and water. There is a water station on the 5K/10K course.
Proceeds & Logistics
The event is a fundraiser. Proceeds support Shelterhouse, which aids victims of domestic violence with pet safety, and SOS Animal Rescue, which assists animals through foster care, pet food, and spay/neuter programs. Packet pickup is available on the day before and the morning of the event at the race location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
