Dime McCarren 5K Run/Walk
The Dime McCarren 5K Run/Walk is a community road event held in Brooklyn at John Ericsson Playground. The race uses an electronically timed 5K (3.1 miles) course that runs through North Brooklyn streets. The published route has been updated due to a road closure at N. 11th Street.
The event is presented in partnership with North Brooklyn Runners. The listing indicates registration is not yet open and that interested participants can receive a notification when registration opens; information from a prior year is also provided.
Amenities include a T-shirt, sports drinks, a post-race spread of fruit and bottled water, an informal bag check with no responsibility for lost items, toilets, and water available on the course.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers with gift card prizes, to top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups with smaller gift cards, and to top three male and female first responder finishers with specified prize amounts. Award winners must have their bib during the award presentation. Full-time first responder award recipients will be asked to show photo proof prior to awards. Attendance at the awards program is required to receive certificates; certificates will not be issued to substitutes or representatives.
Race packet pickup is offered on race day at a Leonard Street station and during a pre-race packet pickup at Brooklyn Running Company, 222 Grand St, Brooklyn, NY, on the date and time listed by the organizer.
