Dime McCarren 5K Run/Walk
The Dime McCarren 5K Run/Walk is a community road race based at John Ericsson Playground in Brooklyn, with an event partnership noted with North Brooklyn Runners. The course is 3.1 miles and electronically timed, routed through a mix of North Brooklyn streets; the published route has been updated due to a road closure at N. 11th Street.
Registration is not yet open; advance notifications are offered when registration opens. Race amenities listed for participants include a T-shirt, sports drinks, a post-race spread of fruit and bottled water, on-course water stations, toilets, and an informal bag check for which the organizers cannot accept responsibility for lost or stolen items.
Awards are presented for top finishers and categories: top three male and female overall finishers receive gift cards from Brooklyn Running Company, and age-group awards are given across standard age brackets with smaller gift cards for top three in each group. Separate top-three awards are listed for full-time first responders, who must show photo proof to be eligible. Award winners must have their bib at the presentation, and attendance at the awards program is required to receive certificates.
Packet pickup is available in advance at Brooklyn Running Company, 222 Grand St, Brooklyn, NY, and there is a day-of race packet pickup location on Leonard Street. Results, same-day finish-line photos, and race videos are provided online and via electronic delivery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
