Event Overview
The Diamond Mountain Duathlon takes place at Lake Welch Beach in Harriman Park near Stony Point. The course includes views of the lake and features rolling hills on the bike segment.
Distances and Format
The event has two race options:
- Duathlon (2mi/15mi/2mi): A run-bike-run format.
- Junior/High School FREE Duathlon (15-18 years old): A free event for participants aged 15 to 18.
Both events follow the same schedule. The transition area is located at the Lake Welch picnic area.
Event Details
The event takes place on a Sunday. Police control intersections along the course. Race photographers are present, and the event will be held regardless of weather. Awards are given to the top three men and women. All other participants receive a finisher medal. Preliminary results are available shortly after the race concludes, with detailed online results, including transition times, published within 48 hours. Photos are also posted online within two days.
Logistics and Amenities
Check-in begins one hour before the start and ends 10 minutes prior. The Kanawauke Road entrance is the only one open before the event. Free public parking is available on site. Water and a trash bag are provided at the check-in table, and stationary restrooms are open. Participants must bring their own bicycle as no rentals are available.
