Event Overview
The Día de los Muertos 5K is a cultural running and walking event held at the California Health Sciences Universities in Clovis. The event centers on the Mexican holiday tradition of honoring deceased loved ones through community gathering and remembrance. Participants can engage with cultural elements throughout the venue, including an altar setting decoration and the opportunity to take pictures with a Catrina.

Participant Amenities and Awards
Registered participants receive several amenities, including a unique finisher medal and themed refreshments such as tacos, hot chocolate, coffee, and traditional "Pan Dulce" (sweet bread). Those who register by early October are provided with a hoodie, while later registrants receive a shirt. A commemorative coffee mug is also available for those who register before the October deadline.
The event includes a best costume competition and various awards. While the speed walk does not offer general awards, the top five male and female finishers in that category receive recognition. For the 5K races, unique age group awards are provided, and a coffee tumbler is awarded to the top 10 male and female participants overall.
Logistics
Bib pick-up and late registration are available the day before the event at the local Fleet Feet store or on the morning of the race at the California Health Sciences Universities campus.
