Events and awards

  • 1 mile

  • Mountain Goat edition

The Mountain Goat edition begins with a timed first ascent that also counts for the regular 1-mile event. After the first run, participants have a four-hour window to complete as many additional trips to Pincushion Peak as they can. The first descent must follow the longer route (just over 1.5 miles); subsequent descents may use the same route as the ascent. A competitor must complete at least two trips to the top to be classified as a Mountain Goat.

There are awards for the top three male and female finishers, age-group winners, and Clydesdale/Athena division winners. All participants receive a custom finisher award and an event shirt. Mountain Goat finishers receive a special finisher award and the top male and female Mountain Goat runners receive additional awards. The race is held at S. Finegold Picnic Area in Friant, CA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
