Devil's Den Ultra
Devil's Den Ultra is a trail event held at Wright's Mountain, 1250 Chase Hollow Rd, Bradford, Vermont. The event offers three race options:
- 30-hour race
- 12-hour race
- 10K race
The marked course is a loop of approximately 10 kilometers on mixed terrain. The trail ranges from easy runnable sections to steep, rocky, and rooty stretches. The route begins with a steeper climb to the peak of Wright's Mountain, followed by a downhill through the woods and a return to the start/finish area. There is one road crossing near the beginning, and the loop starts on private property; participants are asked to stay on public trails outside the event.
The event is limited to 100 runners total. Finishers receive themed tarot cards: all finishers receive an upside down Devil tarot card for their distance. For the timed races, additional tarot cards or awards are given based on mileage and day or night performance. Top runners in each distance receive a Devil's Skull; 30-hour milestones include awards for reaching 50 miles, 100K, and 100 miles, with a specific buckle for 100 miles.
The start/finish area includes parking and a central pit area. 12-hour runners are assigned space for a small drop bin; 30-hour runners receive a 10' x 10' pit area. Pre-registration is offered the evening before the event from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM for setup. Registration closes October 8, and a waitlist may be used if capacity is reached.
