Event Overview

The Devil Mountain Run is a multi-race running event taking place in Danville, California. The 2026 edition is the 46th annual event.

Race Distances

The event offers several race distances:

  • Buddi Love Dog Mile (a one-mile race for dogs)

Event Details

The races are scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026. All races start and finish on Railroad Avenue in Downtown Danville, near the Danville Brewery. The 5K and 10K courses are new for 2026 and are USATF certified. The Mile of Truth course is also USATF certified and is run on a loop course on Railroad Avenue and surrounding streets. The event is a benefit for the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area.

Awards and Features

All finishers receive a medal. The first 1000 registered and paid runners receive a technical shirt. There are overall and age group winner awards for the 5K and 10K. The Mile of Truth offers cash prizes for top winners in specific heats, provided a minimum number of runners participate. The Mile of Truth is also a PAUSATF grand prix championship event.

Logistics

Race day registration and packet pickup are available at the event location, 345 Railroad Avenue. Participants are encouraged to pre-register and pick up packets on the Friday or Saturday before the race at Forward Motion Sports in Danville. A day-of registration fee applies. There is a secure bag drop for athletes.

The 5K and 10K courses will have mile markers and water stations. Dogs and strollers are permitted in the 5K event only, with the requirement that participants with dogs or strollers start at the back of the pack. All dogs must be leashed.

Entry transfers to another person are allowed, but refunds are not permitted. Parking is available in designated areas off Railroad Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
