Event overview
The Devil Mountain Run takes place on May 3, 2026 in downtown Danville at 345 Railroad Avenue. This is the 46th annual running of the event. The event lists the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area as a beneficiary. Race categories include 5K, 10K, the Mile of Truth, the Buddi Love Dog Mile, and a Kids Fun Run. The 5K, 10K and Mile of Truth are USATF certified. Finisher medals are provided for all participants and cash prizes are listed for winners of the Mile of Truth. The Mile of Truth is part of the PAUSATF grand prix championship series. The first 1,000 registered and paid runners receive a tech shirt. Awards are given for overall and age group winners in the 5K and 10K.
Courses and race day details
New 5K and 10K courses are used in 2026, both starting on Railroad Avenue between Church Street and School Street and finishing on Railroad Avenue near Prospect Avenue. The Mile of Truth uses a certified one-mile loop on Railroad, W. Prospect, Hartz Avenue and School Street with two laps and quarter mile markers. The Buddi Love Dog Mile follows the same course; water bowls will be available at the dog finish. The Kids Fun Run has three age categories with these distances:
- Ages 8-10: 1/4 mile
- Ages 5-7: 200 yards
- Ages 4 and under: 100 yards
Mile markers appear on the 5K and 10K courses. Water stations are located at the start, along the course, and at the finish. A secure athlete bag-drop is provided in the registration area. Day-of registration and packet pickup are available; pre-race packet pickup is offered at Forward Motion Sports. Parking is available in designated areas off Railroad Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
