Detweiller at Dark : Detweiller Park, Peoria, IL
Detweiller at Dark is an evening cross-country event held at Detweiller Park in Peoria on July 24, 2026. The event is organized by ShaZam Racing and includes multiple race divisions for youth and adults, plus a kids' fun run. Presented by Under Armour, the event lists several additional sponsors and acknowledges the Peoria Park District.
Races offered include:
- Open Race : 3.0 miles
- Jr. High Girls : 2.1 miles
- Jr. High Boys : 2.1 miles
- Co-Ed High School Open : 3.0 miles
- High School Girls : 3.0 miles
- High School Boys : 3.0 miles
- Kids' Fun Run : approximately 1200 meters
Registration closes Thursday, July 23; there is no race day registration. Packet pickup is available on race day only at Detweiller Park. Registration policies state no refunds and no deferrals, and fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to acts of God. Graduating students may choose to compete in the level they completed or run up a level for the following school year. Parking at the park is $10 per vehicle, cash only; school buses are admitted free but this does not include 15-passenger vans. Participants receive an official event shirt and a virtual packet.
