Destin-Fort Walton Beach Dune Dash 5K/10K
The inaugural Dune Dash 5K/10K is organized by the Destin Fort Walton Beach Tourist Development Council and Run With It. The event is scheduled for January 16, 2027 on Okaloosa Island in Ft Walton Beach, Florida.
Both races start on Highway 98 at the Boardwalk and run east toward Destin on the new multi use path. The courses are out and back with the finish line at the Welcome Center. After finishing, participants return to the Okaloosa Island Pier and Boardwalk for the afterparty and awards ceremony, which will include free food for participants, beer, soft drinks and live music. Family and friends may purchase a wristband for $25 to join the afterparty and to eat and drink for free.

Awards include Overall, Master, Grand Master and Senior Grand Master plus five year age divisions three deep for both genders. There will be overall walker awards and second and third place for walkers for the 5 km; there is no walking division for the 10 km. All registrants receive an event T shirt and all finishers receive a finisher's medal.
Packet pick up is scheduled for Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on the Boardwalk and on race morning from 6:15 to 7:45 AM on the Boardwalk, with exact locations to be announced. The Island Resort beside the Boardwalk is the lodging sponsor and offers a discount for participants. Run With It will include a 20% off coupon on the back of the race bib and operates a plaza with a running store, indoor pickleball court, pro shop, boutique and a brewery and restaurant.
