Event Overview
The Run for the Reef takes place in Navarre, Florida, featuring a course that follows Gulf Blvd and Whitesands Blvd. This event serves as an out and back race with multiple distances available for participants. The main activities are centered around the Navarre Beach Boat Launch parking lot and the Sea Turtle Conservation Center.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run
The 5K has a course time limit of one hour, while the 10K participants have ninety minutes to complete the route. The 1 Mile Fun Run is designated for children aged 12 and under and takes place at the Sea Turtle Conservation Center. Parents are permitted to accompany their children during the Fun Run portion of the event.
Participation Details
For the 5K category, participants may register for either the run or the walk. In the walking category, participants are required to walk strictly, whereas runners in the 5K run are permitted to walk if necessary. T-shirts are provided to the first 350 registrants. Packet pick-up is held at Windjammers on the Pier on the day prior to the race as well as on the morning of the event.
The event concludes with a ceremony at Windjammers featuring music and refreshments. Awards include handcrafted medallions for various categories, including overall winners and age group placements for both runners and walkers. Pets are not permitted on the course.
