Derwent Valley 10km

The Derwent Valley 10km is a trail running event held at Blaydon Rugby Club, Crow Trees Ground, Hexham Rd, Swalwell, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE16 3BN. The route uses woodland trails, open landscapes and riverside sections to showcase the local valley scenery; a route map will be confirmed before the event.

The event distance is 10 km on varied terrain. It is canicross friendly: one well controlled dog per runner is permitted, dogs must remain on a lead at all times, and dogs should be comfortable running 10 km and being near other runners.

Timing is provided by live chip timing from Timing Up North to give accurate race times and results. Every finisher receives a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a post-race snack and drink. A custom event T-shirt is available to add to entries for £14 during registration.

Parking will be available close to the event start; further details about parking, access and any charges will be provided closer to the event. The organiser designs the route to highlight the natural features of the Derwent Valley, combining woodland and valley trails for a summer trail-running experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
