Event and races
The Demi-marathon de Lévis Promutuel Assurance is a road race event on the south shore of Québec. It features the following measured and certified distances:
- 21.1 km (half marathon)
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 km (youth race)
The courses for 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km are measured to international standards and certified by Athletics Canada. Times on the half marathon are accepted as qualifying-equivalence times for other events.
Course details and logistics
The half marathon starts at Galeries Chagnon near Sports Experts and finishes on the grounds of the Juvénat Notre-Dame de Saint-Romuald. After about 4 km through neighbourhood streets, the route reaches boulevard Guillaume-Couture near Monseigneur-Bourget and joins the bike path from rue Saint-Joseph. About 14 km of the half marathon run on the Parcours des Anses with views of the river and Québec city.
The 10 km departs from the bike path near rue Joliet, follows the bike path until the rue Jean-Huard exit on boulevard Guillaume-Couture, then uses Chemin du Fleuve and rue Saint-Olivier to reach the Juvénat Notre-Dame de Saint-Romuald. The 5 km starts near Parc Nautique Lévy on the bike path and finishes at the Juvénat. The 2 km youth race starts on rue de l’Hébreux, joins the bike path, and finishes at the Juvénat.
Sanction and eligibility
The event is sanctioned OR by Athletics Québec. Time limits and minimum ages are set per race. The half marathon has served as a host for provincial road championships in the Coupe Québec Viens Courir. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
