Event Overview
The 10 km Université Laval is the second oldest organized race in Quebec and the longest-standing sporting event at Université Laval. Organized by Rouge et Or Athlétisme in collaboration with Groupe Défis, the event takes place on the university campus in Quebec City. The main site is located at the PEPS, featuring a course that includes the Rouge et Or track.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 10 km: features water stations at kilometer 3 and 7.
- 5 km: features a water station at kilometer 3.
- 1.5 km: open to all, with trophies for the top three finishers aged 12 and under.
- 800 m: open to all, with trophies for the top three finishers aged 8 and under.
Facilities and Logistics
Runners have access to the PEPS locker rooms and showers by showing their race bib. On-site parking is available for a fee and is best accessed via the Robert-Bourassa highway, as several campus streets are closed for the competition. The use of public transit or carpooling is encouraged by the organizers.
Every participant receives a wooden medal manufactured in Quebec. To reduce waste, runners have the option to decline the medal during registration. The event is sanctioned by Athlétisme Québec and includes on-site medical support. Official timing follows Athletics Canada and World Athletics standards.
