Florida’s Longest-Running Footrace
The Daytona Beach Easter Beach Run is a historic sporting event established in 1967. Originally created to provide a holiday activity for visiting students, it has since become the oldest consecutive footrace in the state of Florida. The event takes place directly on the sand at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, utilizing an out and back course design on the beachfront.
The event offers varied distances to accommodate different ages and interests:
- 4 Miles: A chip-timed competitive race open to all ages and teams.
- 2 Miles: A chip-timed run and health walk open to all ages.
- 0.25 Miles: A dedicated race for children aged 8 to 9 years old.
- 100 Yards: A sprint distance for children aged 6 to 7 years old.
- 50 Yards: A dash designed for children aged 3 to 5 years old.
Participants run on the hard-packed sand of the Atlantic coastline. The 2-mile and 4-mile events occur simultaneously on the beach. Custom finisher medals are provided to the first 800 registered participants who complete their respective courses. Additionally, all participants in the specific kids' races receive a medal. Age group awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers across a wide range of categories, starting from 8 and under up to 85 and older. Paid parking is available at the nearby Ocean Walk parking lot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
