Event Overview
The Daytona 100 Ultra is a point-to-point road race held along Florida S.R. A1A. The course follows the ocean road, starting at Jacksonville Beach for the longest distance and ending at the historic Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. This lighthouse is located at the southernmost tip of the barrier island, south of Daytona Beach. The route provides views of the ocean along the coast.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from several individual ultramarathon distances or a team relay:
- 100 Mile Ultramarathon
- 50 Mile Ultramarathon
- 50 Kilometer Ultramarathon (approximately 31 miles)
- 100 Mile 6-Person Team Relay
The 100 Mile and relay events start in Jacksonville Beach, while participants in the 50 Mile and 50 Kilometer races start their runs in Flagler Beach.
Support and Regulations
Aid station support is provided along the course for all individual distances. Participants in the 100 Mile race may use an individual or shared support crew. Those wishing to run the 100 Mile distance without a crew must have documented proof of completing at least one previous 100-mile race. For the 50 Mile and 50 Kilometer distances, runners may choose to have a support crew or run independently. All individual runners without crews are responsible for their own transportation if they do not finish the race.
The 100-mile relay allows teams of up to six runners. These teams determine their own strategy, as there are no requirements for the number of miles per runner or the order of participation. Relay teams must be self-sufficient, providing their own food, water, and ice, and are limited to a single team vehicle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
